Quasimodo (Lon Chaney Sr.) is a hunchback who lives in the bell tower of the great Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Amidst a peasant uprising, fomented by a Deacon and Gypsy King, he kidnaps the beautiful Gypsy Queen, Esmeralda (Patsy Ruth Miller) in order to save her life.
